WHO: ages 11 to 14
WHAT: Safe Sitter Essentials is a great way to get started with babysitting! This class covers a wide range of topics including:
- child care skills, such as child developmental stages, age-appropriate care and practical skills like diapering a baby and toddler
- safety skills that will teach competence in indoor and outdoor safety, injury prevention, basic first aid and choking, as well as what to do in a variety of unexpected emergency situations and who and when to call for help in those situations.
Completing this course will also give confidence in and the tools to build a babysitter business or just get started babysitting around your neighborhood.
**This class does cover infant and child choking but does not cover CPR**

We have the use of two private conference rooms near bathrooms with comfortable tables and chairs, along with enough space to move around when doing various activities and games. Parents are also welcome to hang out in the kitchen area or sound proof cellphone booths located directly outside the conference rooms.
WHEN: Fridays - April 10th, 17th, 24th and May 1st-- 4pm to 5:30pm
There will be a short break halfway through each class. Please bring snacks and water, if needed.
WHY: Taking a Safe Sitter Essentials course is beneficial for several reasons. It equips young teens with the skills and knowledge to handle various situations safely, both when home alone and when babysitting. These courses teach crucial safety, first-aid, and child-care skills, boosting confidence and preparing them for potential emergencies. They also help develop important life and business skills, like managing behavior, understanding child development, and communicating professionally.
